چکیده

Objective: This paper presents a novel low-cost and fully-portable instrumented shoe system for gait phase detection. Methods: The consists of 174 independent sensing units constructed based on an off-the-shelf force-sensitive film known as the Velostat conductive copolymer. A zero potential method was implemented to address crosstalk effect among matrix-formed arrays. customized algorithm event detection developed estimate stance sub-phases including initial contact, flat foot, push off. Experiments were carried out evaluate performance proposed in both straight-line walking turning walking. Results Conclusion: results showed that mean absolute time differences between estimated phases by reference measurement ranged from 45 58 ms during 51 77 walking, which comparable state art.

Design and development of ShrewdShoe, a smart pressure sensitive wearable platform

This study introduces a wearable in-shoe system for real-time monitoring and measurement of the plantar pressure distribution of the foot using eleven sensing elements. The sensing elements utilized in ShrewdShoe have been designed in an innovative way, they are based on a barometric pressure sensor covered with a silicon coating. The presented sensing element has great linearity up to 300...

Estimation of Foot Plantar Center of Pressure Trajectories with Low-Cost Instrumented Insoles Using an Individual-Specific Nonlinear Model

Postural control is a complex skill based on the interaction of dynamic sensorimotor processes, and can be challenging for people with deficits in sensory functions. The foot plantar center of pressure (COP) has often been used for quantitative assessment of postural control. Previously, the foot plantar COP was mainly measured by force plates or complicated and expensive insole-based measureme...

Foot Plantar Pressure Measurement System: A Review

Foot plantar pressure is the pressure field that acts between the foot and the support surface during everyday locomotor activities. Information derived from such pressure measures is important in gait and posture research for diagnosing lower limb problems, footwear design, sport biomechanics, injury prevention and other applications. This paper reviews foot plantar sensors characteristics as ...

Development of a Low Cost Foot-scanner for a Custom Shoe Tailoring System

INTRODUCTION We propose a low-cost foot scanner to replace the expensive ones. Components used in our scanner and shape acquisition method are entirely different from those of other classical foot scanners. Several PC cameras are used instead of expensive CCD cameras. Also, the suggested scanner does not require expensive moving mechanism, emitters (laser generator or pattern generator) and som...

Dynamic barefoot plantar pressure in gait and foot type biomechanics

Song et al demonstrated that healthy subjects with planus and neutral foot type exhibited a distinguishable foot posture and dynamic foot function [1]. However, such a relationship has not been demonstrated in a large sample study. Foot structure was categorized into one of three foot types (cavus, neutral, and planus) based on the standing arch height index (AHI) in 1,054 incoming cadets at th...
